Pair of 18th - 19th Century Cloisonne Temple Lions

This PAIR OF CLOISONNE TEMPLE LIONS consist of two figures that are not exactly identical, but very similar in style and period. Each animal measures 11 inches long (nose to tail) by 6 inches tall and 4 inches in width. They date to the 18th-19th Century. They are in outstanding condition with the exception of a few extremely minor losses or repairs to the enamel. They are covered with archaic sea plant designs throughout.

A small footed cloisonné dish with open centre. I am puzzled as to the use of this item so if anybody knows please enlighten me. I believe it to be Chinese in origin. The quality of the enamelling is very good suggesting a 19th Century date for its production. The pale blue background is covered with a host of Taoist symbols. This small snuff bottle is from the late 19th or early 20th Century. Originating from China it depicts tree peonies on a yellow background containing stylized clouds. The rims and spoon are gilded as also appears to be the interior. There is no damage to the enamel only the pitting normally found on pieces of this age.
