This Chinese Jia Qing or Dao Guang period (1796~1850) hand painted enamel leaf-shaped tray is 12 ¼ inches long, 8 ¼ inches on the widest part and 1 1/8 inches high with legs. It depicts a blue orchid, two pink roses, an unknown yellow flower and a blue beetle with white spots on a turquoise background. It has yellow-green bottom and three legs. Striking early Chinese cloisonne wine pot decorated all over with stylized flora and karakusa vines - cloisonne on copper - original top still intact ( rare to find them still together). Dates from late 18th to early 19th century. Good condition with minor dents but no missing enamel or hairlines. Measures 9" to tip of spout, 5 1/4 diameter main body - stands 5 1/2" to top of finial - double bale handle.

This early 19th Century Chinese pillow box is beyond belief, it is one of the best examples of cloisonne art you will ever see. The pillow box was traditonally used for a womans wedding night to hold her dowry. The light blue color of enamel found in the background of this cloisonne box was popularized by the first female emperess of China. A peacock and rose landscape adorn the top. Bold and impressive, this four-sided rectangular vase was made for holding incense sticks at a Chinese altar.
