A very rare early Peking Glass vase with three layers of multi colored glass and facets. The underlying base color is a dark, almost cobalt blue glass. The next layer in a lighter blue glass. Then the top layer is a pale sky blue color into which streaks of yellow glass have been swirled into streaky striations. The maker then cut facetted patterns into the shoulder and in another group just below the shoulder of the vase. The overall effect is quite stunning - absolutely the only example of its... Chinese late Qian Lung length 6.5 cm height 5 cm. Glass brush rest/paper weight made in the form of the character for the word mountain. It was moulded of white glass and then an overlay of red and green.

Chinese 18th century length handle to handle 9.8 cm. Height 5.5 cm stand height 2.3 cm Moulded in the form of an archaic bronze vessel with deer head handles. The washer is supported on four short feet. The base is carved to receive the feet so the washer is quite secure when in place.A scholar would have had good thoughts when using this brush washer, because deer were believed to live to be of great age and also because ground deer horn was an aphrodisiac.
