This VASE is Best DESCRIBED as FANTASTIC. Acquired from a SUPERLATIVE ESTATE of a Maryland JUDGE who liked the BEST, this is a CARVED SODALITE HARDSTONE VASE. In Two Pieces the BOTTOM section Depicts a PHOENIX and a MAIDEN; the Second Side has QUAN YIN and a CHILD. The TOP Depicts a CARVED DRAGON. 19th century Chinese jade banana leaf, 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ½ inches at widest spot on a carved/fitted wood stand. There is a loose ring on the stalk. It is carved so thin it is almost translucent. There is a small chip on the stand. Excellent condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade Pi. The piece is 2 ¼ inches in diameter and 5/16 inches thick. A pinhead (Gu) design is on one side; the other side has a five scroll design. The carved wood stand has six round vase shaped corners. There is a tiny chip on the rim of the jade and a small piece is missing on the curve of the stand. It is in good condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century Chinese moss green jade pi is 8 inches in diameter and half inch thick. One side is carved with a landscape scene depicting two horses drinking water in a river. The other side is plain. The jade pi fits in a custom made wood stand. It is in excellent condition.

19th century nephrite carving of a bearded Zhong-Kui (ghost eater). His right hand is holding a fan; his left hand is raised up holding his hat. Under his left foot is a demon begging for his life. According to Chinese custom, the ghost eater will protect a family from evil spirits. This is a very nice carving in good condition. H: 5 inches, W: 3 inches, D: 1 ¾ inches
