The celadon green jade has a beautiful translucent quality and is ornamented with brown speckled inclusions. With a wonderfully smooth surface, the oval box is well hollowed and thin walled. This small 19th century Chinese carved nephrite cup is 3 ¼” long 1 ½” high and 1 ¾’ on its widest part. The cup was carved to look like an old bronze vessel. A dragon (or beast) head is carved on the top of the handle and belt like “Ru Ding” design encompasses the entire body. Aside a tiny indentation on its rim, it is in great condition.
