c. 1900-1920, Huge bracelet, vermeil decorated with openwork cloisonné symbols- double happiness, eternal knots and bats for good fortune which surround a carved serpentine Buddha... This figure is known as the happy or laughing Buddha and represents generosity and an open heart.
7.2cm high, tapering to 2.2cm at clasp. Inside: 6.5cm x 6cm Stone: 4.5cm x 3.5cm. Signed: SILVER.

c. 1890-1920, Rare Chinese broach. The two heads are hand carved form one piece of amethyst the bodies are silver repoussé and chased. Unique piece that suggests the influence of western religious art on the Chinese artist. Certainly custom made...possibly for export. The detail in the carving is so fine that you can see each hair in the woman's bun.
