Chinese 19th Century Blue & White Porcelain Box with Calligraphy

This attractive blue & white porcelain box was made during the mid 1800's. Inside the box and the cover are characters etched into the glaze; we have not had these characters translated. The box measures 9.5 cm by 7 cm. No repair or restoration; fine condition.

A Tang - Five dynasty 10th century "Ding type" white glaze large bowl, rounded side with deep center and lipped rim covered with milky white glaze, base unglazed. Bowl is in very good condition, no damage, minor fretting on the rim.

A nice pair of 20th century famille rose dishes finely painted with landscape scenes. Signed Jiangxi Ciye Gongsi, Jiangxi Porcelain Company and Wang Dacang but possibly not produced by either. One dish has a 1 1/4 inches hairline, otherwise perfect. A fine pair of 19th century (AD1820 - AD1850), probably Daoguang period famille rose bamboo bowls. They were finely decorated with bamboo, lingzhi fungi and rock patterns in famille rose. The base bears a peach mark in overglaze red often seen in Daoguang period porcelains. Provenance: property of a local prominent garment manufacturer; Date: 19th century; Diameter: 4 7/8 inches, 4 3/4 inches; Condition: a one inch crack in one of the bowls, otherwise good.
