A typically exported to South-East Asia Ming dynasty b/w bowl, decorated with a white on blue of the cranes among lotus pond. Dating 16th-17th century in very good condition near to excellent, found only a tiny flake glaze to rim, no chip, no crack and free from any restoration. Diameter: 14.4cm and High: 7.7cm.

"Cafe au lait & Three Friends" pattern.
This beautiful blue and white saucer is painted with a scene depicting birds in flight above peony, prunus and bamboo plants growing from pierced rocks. The reverse side is covered with a cafe-au-lait glaze also known as a Batavian stlye glaze. It so called because of the brown glazed exterior.
