DESCRIPTION: A rare Chinese mid Qing Dynasty huanghuali libation cup, well carved in high relief depicting plum blossoms and branches which join at the base to form an openwork stand. The cup has a beautiful reddish-brown patina and is in very good condition with no breaks and only tiny frits to the rim; circa 18th/19th C. DIMENSIONS: 3" high (7.6 cm) x 3 7/8” wide (9.9 cm).

Late 19th - early 20th century Chinese buffalo horn Buddhist scepter carved in a shape of a reishi fungus with a bat and a pine branch. Ruyi scepter is a traditional symbol of scholarship, or transmission of knowledge. Unusually large for a horn carving, very well carved, exceptionally beautiful translucent material, wonderful patina and beautiful sheen to the surface. Great piece for scholar’s table, or a practicing Buddhist. Length 13 3/4 inches.

Description: An exquisite Zitan wood inkcake rest was inset with charming burlwood top. Carved from one solid Zitan wood, the stand was finished by excellent craftsmanship. Lineate along the borders by straight lines down to the curved foot, the small scholar item was squared on the top and was inset with a slab of burl wood for the best presentation. In fine old patina, the nice wood inkcake rest can also be a display stand for a lovely jade piece ( There’s an example for display)

19th century Chinese jade thumb ring (also called archer’s ring because of its historic use in pulling the bowstring) of true nephrite dark celadon jade with beautiful color variation in the stone and a brown patch left to show the skin of the jade boulder used for the carving.
