Chinese Yixing stoneware pottery tea pot C.1900

A good, antique chinese Yixing pottery tea pot decorated with incised calligraphy to one side and a spray of blossom to the other. There is an indistinct sealmark inside the lid.

Dating c. 1900-20, it measures 7 1/4inches (18.4 cms) from tips of spout and handle.

There is a chip to the lid (see photos). It is in otherwise good condition.

Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty black-glazed high-shouldered tapered stoneware storage jar with horizontal striations. The entire jar, including the interior, is glazed, leaving only the underside of the foot and a few chips at the base (which could be production flaws) free of glaze. The wide, flat, smooth foot rim reveals a buff colored body. Circa 14th to 15th century. Measures 5 3/4” high x 4 ½” diameter. Solidly potted and in very good overall condition. Chinese Jianyao "Hare's Fur" conical TEA BOWL with everted rim, Song Dynasty. No damage except for a very slight chip (less than 1 mm) to the footrim. Diameter is 4.75 inches or 12 cms. Exceptionally fine and rare matched pair of Song Dynasty Jizhou type tortoiseshell small bowls. I have included a photo from Schatzman Collection- “Dark Jewels” which shows a similarly glazed piece from the Yonghe kilns, Ji’ an, Jiangxi. Fine and rare Tang Dynasty cosmetic box made from heavy white clay with a white slip, and covered with a greenish transparent glaze. In excellent condition the glaze and slip are 98% (more or less) intact, there is some very minor fritting on the top outer edge (noted in enlargement #7), on lower half above the foot a band of glazed was pared off prior to firing and is part of the original design of the box, (noted in enlargement #5).
