19th century (may be earlier) Chinese bronze waterdropper (vessel for diluting ink used in painting and calligraphy) in a form of a resting boy holding a lotus pod on stalk in his hand. Very nice casting and chiseling of details, pleasant weight, 2 spouts for filling and dispensing water on the top, beautiful patina. Wonderful object for scholars table. Length 2 1/4 inches.

DESCRIPTION: A colorful pair of Chinese porcelain famille rose export figures, both standing on a rock outcropping with splashing waves, the female with one arm raised and the male with a long, black beard and hat. Painted in turquoise, pinks and greens, their costumes are a riot of color and patterns. Both are stamped with an impressed “China” on their bases, dating them to approximately 1900. Excellent condition with no chips or repairs. DIMENSIONS: Each 7” high (17.8 cm).

Chinese pearl shell gaming counters, very finely engraved on the one side with a vignette of figures outdoors and on the reverse with an elaborate, entwined monogram. They are in three different shapes and number altogether 80. Two features set these counters above the average type: each counter is engraved with a different scene, so there are a lot of images.
