A fine huge 19th century reticulated Hongmu or Suanzhi mounted inlaid grisaille porcelain floor screen. Ex. very old English collection. The porcelain plaques were finely incised with the patterns and characters and then inlaid with grisaille enamels, a technique popular during the 19th century. This burl snuff bottle is in the shape of a Mongolian flask. It is large-ish, has coral stopper, and is banded with metal. The inside is well-hollowed. Very good patina and condition. H 7 cm W 7 cm. Probably dates from the mid-19th Century. It comes with a wooden stand for display purposes.
