A very old Buddha from the post-Gupta era NE-India ca. 9th century. Lord Buddha with a serene face is seated in lotus position calling the earth to witness. This a very early Buddha made in a style that influenced Buddhist art in huge parts of S- and SE-Asia. Unfortunately the right hand is missing and the nose has been hurt too, also the Buddha has to be supported to stand upright since the base is missing. In any case this kind of Buddha image is very rare and the price reflects the condition ... Click for details
