An Indian bidri base to a water pipe, inlaid with silver floral sprays and scrolls, 18th century. Measuring 18cm or 7 inches high, it has a zinc body and silver inlay. There is an old lead repair to the base and areas of loss to the inlay, visible in the images.

A rare example of an early 18th century rosewater sprinkler in silver from Mughal period in N-India. The sprinkler is nicely decorated with floral scrolling. Made in two parts. Condition: a few hard to notice old dents. On the foot rim one triangle is missing. Silver must be very pure since it bends easily. 27 cm. high

A uniquely shaped bronze ewer from N-India, Mughal period, early 19th c. Condition: handle was lost sometime in its lifetime, and has a nice old repair. The plate of Shivas trifork under the spout is probably added later. In its new suit the ewer was probably used in the Siva Linga Hindu ritual. 26 cm. high

One fine Tibetan conch shell trumpet with exquisite silver inlaid. Some stone inlaid still remain. The dragon and a duck amid the flower design. 8 circular with Buddhist symbols attached to the shell. 9" long. Great Tibetan artifact. From late 19th C. or 1900s.

A nice rosewater sprinkler in good condition, only a few dents. Nice ornamentation. Made of hammered brass that is silver plated. The copperish shine is from the skin of the photographer. Unscrews easily in two parts. H: 25 cm

A wonderful iron padlock with key. 3 floral embossed brass placed is decorating the padlock and the iron is incised with a nice pattern. The keyhole cover still works. Originating from the Mughal period ca. 1750 from N-India. The size is 27 cm 20 cm, ca. 4 cm deep. This wonderful push key padlock functions with a repaired and even perhaps substituted key. Some nicks and dents.

This is a very nicely carved old traditional Tibetan ritual Phurba and it is a bit worn from use. The Phurba was brought back to the US in the 60's by a man who had taken a year off and gone trekking about from Turkey across to Nepal.

Details: A rare and very attractive 18th century wooden polychrome image of Shadakshari Avalokiteshvara from Tibet. Shadakshari Avalokiteshvara has one face, four arms, and two legs crossed in the contemplative posture. His two front hands holding the wish-granting gem at his heart, his rear hands holding a rosary and a lotus. It is said that the Dalai Lamas are manifestations of this form of Avalokiteshvara.
