An Anglo Indian jewel box from the Visagapatam region mounted in the typical style , with excellent quality pierced ivory and bone mounts, silver studded and black pen decorated floral motifs all against a tortoiseshell background.The interior is fitted with three covered and four open compartments and a row of velvet-lined section for rings. Sold to by a collector who thought this stately item was a chess piece and was disgruntled to find its true intent, it is handsomely engraved and inlaid with red and ochre. Approximately 3-1/2 inches tall and 1-1/8 inches in diameter, it is Persian or Northern Indian and dates from the latter part of the Eighteenth Century.

Small seal in the shape of a bird, its wings with geometric motifs, and a circular seal beneath. Bronze, with green encrusted patina. India, Indus Valley Culture, Ca. 3rd millenium B.C. A well modelled stone carving of the standing Parvati on top of a single Lotus base. Under the base we see the rat (vehicle of Ganesh). Below Parvatis two lower pair of hands is Skandi on left and Ganesh on right. Both well carved. The two upper hands are holding the attributes of Parvati, a mirror and a Vajra (thunderbolt).
