The almond shaped eyes are inlaid with white pupils painted black. Krishna seems to be well feed, with a fatty yet muscular body. Krishna has over-... Click for details

Nicely patinated well-worn and very decorative ankle rattle from NE-India. Early 18th c. This type of rattle is sometimes seen on 17-18th c Krishna figures from NE-India. It was used with wooden clappers, a string from the rattle was placed between the toes so the rattle was ringing for every step taken. Made by cire perdue, with the small balls still inside, it rings perfect. Used but very nice. Length: ca. 16 cm, width ca. 10 cm.
