Japanese early 20th century bamboo flower basket. The basket is of large rectangular form with natural root handle. The basket is tightly woven with fine and extra fine sized strips of tan and dark colored bamboo. The front panel has the design of a small bamboo plant with stalk, stem and leaves. Unsigned. The basket measures 18" tall, 8" wide at the widest and 7" depth. The bottom is square form.

Japanese 19th century bamboo flower basket by master basket maker, WADA WAICHISAI. WADA WAICHISAI was born in 1815 and lived until 1901. The basket is of low circular form with natural bamboo handle and top round frame. The rest of the basket is loosely woven with medium sized strips of bamboo. Signed by artist WAICHISAI. Japanese early 20th century bamboo flower basket. The basket is of rectangular form with natural bamboo handle with 2 small stalks of bamboo gracefully wrapping around it. The frame of the basket is woven with medium and fine strips of bamboo. Around the frame is wrapped twine that made of very fine strips of bamboo. Signed by artist CHIKUHOSAI. The basket measures 16" tall, 10" wide and 6" deep. The base of the basket is square shaped with 4 feet made of natural stalks of bamboo.
