Condition; good, it has a part that is peeling because of age and normal scratches (please see photo closely)
This is a Japanese Meiji period buddhist zushi altar. Traditionally use for butsudan, the inside is made of wood, lacquer and the maki-e gold paint inside. It has also a different colors on the top part of the design. There is a small drawer where you can put the candle on it. The doorknob is very unique old Japanese style.... Click for details

Venerable jade-colored bronze temple bell dating to the 22nd year of the Meiji period (1890). This bell has the following traditional features: twin-dragon hanging ring; functional and aesthetic nine-pronged repeating pattern; lower-area flower ornament pattern. According to its inscription, this bell was an offering to Gakujyouji temple (Inugamigun Toyosato village--Shiga). Late Meiji period (1890s - 1912) Japanese copper Buddhist alms bowl with sides of modified flower petal shape and beautifully patterned outside surface. Simple elegant object with incredibly strong design, excellent patina, pleasantly heavy. Four characters on the bottom read KICHISAKU JOSHU, which can be translated as “This ordinary utensil is made with good luck”. Great subtle piece in excellent condition. Diameter at the widest 4 1/8 inches.
