A finely potted & decorated Japanese Satsuma style earthenware bowl, painted in overglaze enamels on the exterior with asters & foliage. The bowl was probably made or decorated in a Kyoto studio during the Meiji period(1868-1912). The dimensions are approximately 2 3/4"(7cm) high and almost 6"(15cm) wide. The condition is very good with one possible very short hairline, it may just be the crackled glaze, difficult to tell, I only mention it to be completely accurate - no chips or restoration. ... I believe the jar dates to the 19th century, Meiji or late Edo period. The jar is approximately 10”(26cm) high ... Click for details
