This handsome Japanese cloisonne enamel box, measures 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/2". It is decorated in with red, blue and gold flowers and stems, all aon a white background. With the exception of some wear to the silver plated interior, and outer borders, the piece is in superb condition with no damage to the cloisonne or enamel. The piece dates c. 1920.

Unusual form with a large flared foliated mouth, this pair of Japanese cloisonné vases date to the late Edo period, about 1860. Depicting a floral and fan motif. These vases measure 12” high and flare out to 6 inches across (diameter) the mouth. The enameling has a pleasing mat finish and a nice patination on the metal work. In excellent condition.

Beautiful Japanese cloisonne vase with chrysanthemums. The background is known as ginbari (silver foil); thin silver foils impressed with the relief designs were applied to a copper base. The brass rims on this vase were finished with the old technique; a sheet was sodered and hand applied with another piece (see photo #4). Excellent condition.
