This beautifully grained persimmon tobacco box from the early 1900’s has all the special compartments needed to contain smoking utensils. The side which holds the pipe has been carved in the form of Mt. Fuji. There is an impressed signature on the underside of the cover. Signs of use and patina show this was a cherished piece to someone. Very good condition except for the bamboo tube that held the smoked tobacco ash which is missing.
