This traditional Japanese kimono chest has two sections. Each one is made from paulownia wood (kiri) and has original handcrafted-iron-hardware. The kakute (square) handle creates a classic look of the era (approximately the late 1800s) and the two senctions could be displayed side by side since the heigh of the chests are equal.

This Japanese kitchen chest has a clean contemporary impression. The chest is approximately from the early part of 1900s and it is made from cypress and cedar. The chest has two pairs of sliding doors and it comes with a glass top and a metal stand for practical use at home or office.

Large rare antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest), from the Mikuni area of Japan, made of heavy solid keyaki (elm) wood throughout, wooden bracing on sides and back, large compartment with sliding panels has 4 smaller interior drawers, safe box has 2 small interior drawers, beautiful heavy iron work, has 3 keys, Edo Period.
Size: 35 1/2" high x 47 1/2" wide x 19 1/4" deep.

Wonderful rare antique Japanese fune bako (ship safe box), made all of keyaki (elm) wood with heavy iron work, single door is a separate drop in panel with 3 locks, interior consists of 6 drawers of different sizes (2 of which have heavy iron locks), all drawers have thick keyaki fronts and kiri (paulownia) wood interiors, beautiful grain and finish through out, kashiwa mon on front is made of bronze encircled in iron, comes with one key, characters in ink on bottom, Edo Period.
