Wonderful and dramatic Japanese antique money box, made all of solid thick keyaki (elm) wood with heavy iron hardware, beautiful original translucent reddish orange lacquer finish, Edo Period (c. early 1800's). Size: 18 1/2" high x 17" wide x 24" deep.

Museum quality article from late 19th to early 20th century. Genuine antique Japanese merchant chest made of kayki zelkova wood outside and kiri paulownia woode inside with vary thick and aged iron hardware. All locks work fine and comes with their keys. It has four drawers with one money box made of Keyaki zelkova wood. Highly collectileble and reccomended article. Very good in condition with fine patina.

Japanese "Yonezawa" style single-section tansu with three drawers, round iron lockplates, iron drawer pulls, and side carrying handles. This piece was probably used for clothing storage. Meiji period (circa 1880). 29 3/4"H x 29 3/4"W x 14 1/2"D. Very good overall condition with a nice patina to the wood. One old crack across the top.
