This highly detailed netsuke of a man with a child cleaning his ear is a treat for the senses. Patterned clothing, facial expressions, and attitudes are all clearly visible on the tiny netsuke measuring 1 1/4" high, and 1" wide. There is a signature clearly incised on the bottom of one of the men's feet. The condition is excellent. The piece likely dates from the early 20th Century.

An exquisitely carved ivory umbrella handle depicting three monkeys at play. The base is signed. This item was made, circa 1890-1910, during the Meiji period. There is the usual yellowing and age related cracks. The 'skeleton' of the umbrella is without fabric and this item is being sold either for renovation or for the handle. 11.2 inches (28.5cm) long 0.9 inches (2.2cm) square.

This is a very nice late Meiji to 1930's 6 inch tall Japanese elephant ivory vase with flowers. Carved from one solid chunk of tusk. Mint condition, no damage or losses what so ever. This is a extremely well done, signed piece of ivory. It is a round ivory plaque with a custom wooden frame. Relief carved monkeys in various forms of play. Great carving and realistic features, with exceptional faces. The plaque measures 7 1/2" across including the frame. The ivory is 5 5/8" across. No damage.

Great circa 1900-1910's (late Meiji era) Japanese elephant ivory netsuke in the form of multiple gourds. Netsuke looks to be carved from one piece of tusk. Signed and has two holes..this is definatly a netsuke. No damage or retorations. A great find because of the subject and perfect condition. Dimensions to be added no later than Sept 6th, 2007.
