This Japanese chawan bowl is made of lacquer red with maki-e gold finished, it has a normal scratches because of age. Beautiful unique Samurai and kanji signature motif. The bowl has also lids for covering, the lacquer is made of wood.
This came from a lacquer tree and very popular in Japan.The climate and country match the material perfectly, as the tree loves humidity. Lacquer is a complex resin made from lacquer tree sap.

The size of Comb: 4" L x 2" W x 3/15" Thick. Beautiful Japanese Lacquer Kushi(comb)with Raden finish. Raden is workmenship for Mothers pearl inlaid. This comb has wonderfully detail mothers pearl inlaid. The front has with glass inlaid at flower budd area. The flower is design of Kiku, chrysanthemum. The condition of comb very good except some age wear. A couple of tiny area of line missing. Dating from Taisho period. 1912-1924.
