The size of Suiteki: 3" Long x 2 5/8" Wide x 3/4" High. Amazing work of Tsuba turned into Suiteki(water dropper). Tsuba and suiteki is made by Suaka(pure copper). The tsuba has Nanako background with autumn grass flowers and Japanese insects(mushi), Tonbo(dragon fly), Suzumushi(bell ring insect) and Kamakiri(mantodea). Japanese yatate, a portable brush holder/inkwell combination. The brush compartment of the yatate is of simple cylindrical form, and is of a silvered material, probably a copper based alloy. The yatate is in good condition with only a few spots of wear to the silvered surface. It measures 7" long and the inkwell is 1 5/8" in diameter. It dates to the Taisho-period (1912-1926).

This is a very large and heavy, Japanese Meiji Silver footed tray. It measures 12 1/2" across and has 1230 grams of silver or 43.2 ounces. Scalloped and ribbed Chrysanthemum shape, on the top and underside. Ornate feet in the shape of the flowers leaves. Engraved Japanese artist mark on the base. Very fine condition, with a couple of minor nicks and bends, more in the very center.

Japanese bronze hibachi, or hand warmer, dating to the late Meiji to early Taisho-period (early 1900's). This stout little hibachi features raised embossment of birds and flowers, and sits on four squat, rounded legs atop a base of solid keyaki. The outside has developed a dark patina with hints of dark red and green, and the inside still contains residue from previous use. There is faded gold, presumably paint, on the raised figures. A wood-framed Japanese rectangular bronze plaque with a powerful Ni-o (temple guardian) bearing a vajra (thunderbolt weapon). As he emerges in high
relief from the plaque’s dark background, the copper patination used for his
extraordinary musculature and ferocious expression is intensified.
His fierce eyes are inlaid with gold, copper and shakudo and his robes, eddying about him, decorated with mon of inlaid gold and shakudo. This plaque represents Meiji metalwork at its best.
