Titled "Nagara Harusame" (spring rain in Nagara district) Jalpanese figures and landscape scroll painting is painted with ink and color on silk. Measurements about : 43" x 12" (109cm x 30.5cm), Painted area : 9 7/8" x 8 1/4" (25cm x 21cm). Signed artist name "Koseki" and sealed. Nakanishi Koseki (1807-1884), scholar artist, active in Kyoto from late Edo to early Meiji era. It is in good condition. A little bit of marks are present.

A set of six sliding doors from a Japanese alcove or tokonoma painted in the spring of Meiji 38, 1904. The vivid green of the bamboo contrasts strikingly against the gold ground whilst the sparrows in flight provide a constant source of youthful movement.
