The Shibata Collection at the Kyushu Ceramic Museum has an almost identical fish form dish and with the same underglaze stylized fuku mark surrounded by a double square. Their example is also free form painted, has a raised design for the scales and eye and has a very small chip on the rim, as does this example. They assign the date of 1700-1740. See: part one page 153. Rim 1cm. high.

This is a beautiful Japanese Studio Porcelain Vase. It is a signed Genroku vase. It stands 8 ½" tall and has an unusual shape. Pure white pit free porcelain ground. It is decorated with colorful and rich enameled Morning Glory, leaves and vines. Gold outlines many of the vines and florals. Gold top rim. Beautiful condition with only some slight wear to the gold rim area. A rare fine piece.

This wonderful large and heavy Japanese Arita “sometsuke ozara” (blue and white porcelain charger) is hand painted with lush cobalt blue reserves on a pure white ground filled with blue butterflies and floral decorations.
