A very nice and Koransha dish decorated in the simple style known in Japan as Wabi-Sabi. The design is that of two deer gamboling umder what appears to be a cherry tree in early blossom. The dish measures 7 ¾” diameter and is ¾” deep. It is in excellent condition and dates from the late Meiji period, circa 1885-1910. The orchid mark of the Koransha potters is on the bottom along with a firing spur - used to separate the pieces in the kiln to keep them from sticking to one another. ... Click for details

This Imari charger dates from the mid-Meiji era (1880-1900). It is decorated with flowers, dragons and their flaming pearls, phoenixes, stylised waves and lots of scrolls and curlicues, mostly on brown background.

The reverse shows stylised flowers in underglaze blue and the mark "fu ki cho shun" (in Japanese kanji characters). ... Click for details

Fine quality antique Japanese shaped kakiemon porcelain phoenix dish. Ca.1800 (possibly older). Finely painted. Condition is good but there are several small chips to the rim. The painting within the well is in fine condition. Measures 7" x 5.25" x 1 1/8". A fine quality piece in not perfect condition.

Good quality & unusual antique Japanese large imari porcelain covered bowl. Ca. mid to late 19th century. Hand-painted in underglaze blue as well as various enamels (gilt, red, orange, etc). Condition is very good. Some minor rubbing to the gilt. The rim of the cover and where it meets the bowl are unglazed and show some staining and minor pitting from the firing. Overall condition of the piece is very good. Diameter: 7.5". Height with top: 4.75".

Good quality antique Japanese large imari porcelain bowl. Ca. mid to late 19th century. Hand-painted in underglaze blue as well as various enamels (gilt, red, green,aubergine etc). Maker's mark on bottom in red. Condition is very good. Some minor rubbing to the gilt but most is intact. In the well there is some rubbing to the green and aubergine enamel and a few tiny firing flaws. Overall condition of the piece is very good. Diameter: 9.5". Height: 4.75".
