About 9-1/2" (24cm), Arita Imari plate, dating to the first quarter of the 18th century, decorated in the Imari palette with underglaze blue and overglaze iron red and gilt. Three panels are decorated with quail, peonies, chrysanthemums and barley. Three spurs to the base. Excellent condition with no chips, frits, cracks, hairlines or repairs. A very unusual European decorated arita tea bowl and saucer painted with a fence pattern on a lime green ground. The interior of the cup with turquoise enamel.

Dating from c.1700, the cup measures 2 1/4inches (5.7 cms) across and the saucer 3 5/8inches (9.3 cms).

There is some wear to the gilding and a small chip to the rim of the cup.

Early 18th century Arita Imari shallow bowl with reticulated rim, c. 1700-1720. About 8.125" (20.75cm) x 1.75" (4.5cm) and in very good condition with no noticeable wear to gilt or iron red enamels. A half-inch hairline and a small glaze skip to the rim may be seen in our fifth and sixth images. Insured shipping at cost.

The striking underglaze blue and white design of this late 19th century Japanese fukizima charger combines both vivid and muted cobalt in misty blossoms and leaves that float within sharply defined stems. The fukizima technique, employing a stencil and sprayed pigment, created the white flowers that hover above a soft blue background. The igezara fluted trim is in perfect condition; there is a small firing flaw to the lower right of the design. The diameter is 15" (38 cm).

A sweet little Japanese Arita dish with a design of a Japanese crane and a pair of scrolls tied together. The dish measures 4 3/4" diameter and is 1 1/1/8" deep. Excellent condition - dates from the late Meiji period, circa 1900 - 1915. The bottom has an unglazed circle that was created in the firing by keeping the piece of the floor of the kiln.

This deep oversized Japanese Imari blue and white porcelain charger (“sometsuke ozara”) is decorated with a hand painted “meijin karakusa” design around a central medallion of shochikubai (pine, plum and bamboo).
