Figurative depiction of a standing Kannon Bosatsu sculpted from an extremely hard, medium-weight gray-hued stone, a long-stemmed lotus bud held in the left hand. Clearly dated on the backside to Hoei 5 (1708), mid-Edo Period. Clean break at the neckline, the head now firmly re-attached to the body with a stone-use bonding agent.
