Beautiful Japanese Yogi coat with original cotton batting intact. This piece was most likely a trousseau piece with the cranes signifying long life. The wax paste resist application, (Japanese tsutsugaki), has a delicate, simple soulfulness that makes this a wonderful piece to hang or to use thrown across a bed. Meiji era. Excellent condition. Dimensions: 66" length, (top of collar to base) x 60" Width (sleeve end to end)
