This cylindrical bamboo incense container has lacquer top, bottom and cap. The decoration on the bamboo depicts three flying bats, good-luck motif, with carving. The lacquer part of the top has Kanji-character design, meaning happiness to come. The artist signature is carved on the bamboo. Measurements about : 13 5/8" (34.5cm) long. It is in excellent condition and comes with original wooden box.

This wonderful adjustable “yokogi” crosspiece was carved from densely-grained Japanese keyaki wood in the shape of a carp and dates to the late 18th/early 19th century. The bold simplicity of the carving is extremely appealing and gives the piece a marvelous sculptural quality. This early carp-shaped pothook-adjuster has a superb dark patina consisting of cooking smoke and soot from centuries of use hanging over a fire. This thick beautifully grained burled Japanese keyaki (zelkova) wood base has been crafted to retain its natural irregular form. Meiji/Taisho period, early 20th century. Heavy wood bases such as this one, with its rich wavy grain and undulating edge, would typically be used to display a flower arrangement or hold a prized figural okimono.

Rare high-quality Noh mask storage box. Made of very fine-grain
Kiri wood(no cracks), with lacquered edges and pure silver fittings(in the shape of Chiba Samurai Family Crests). Retains original hemp rope. Lined with fine silk fabric(Komon design). The box is completely original, without any repairs or alterations. It can contain 3 mask(each compartment separated by a lacquered wood plank).
