An extremely rare early Choson period, early 15th century sanggam inlaid punchong vase. It shows influence from fine Chinese Yuan dynasty porcelains. If you examine its shape, you will find that it is a combination of maebyong and applique Yuan blue and white 'guan' jar. Korean "Ge" ware type earthenware TEA BOWL, well potted covered with a white glaze with a slightly bluish tinge, stopping neatly before the unglazed footrim with spur marks inside the cavetto. "Dimensions are 5 3/8 inch diameter or 13.8 cms x 2 3/8 inches in height or 6 cms. Condition appears to be good, no chips, cracks or restorations. Circa: 19th or perhaps 18th Century, Yi Dynasty.
