Sukhothai circular shaped covered bowl with a coarse grey-brown, speckled, stoneware body, on a curved foot with a sunken base. It has a faded brown band around the base, the sides rising up to the upper bowl and matching lid. The cover fits into the recessed groove around the top of the bowl, and has a pointed knob outlined in faded dark rings. Early Sukhothai pottery covered bowl with a coarse grey-brown, speckled stoneware body, with an underglaze black-brown oxide design. The bowl has alternating decorations of abstract flowers with birds, vertical lines and cross hatching lattice work. The knob on the top of the lid has a pumpkin shape design outlined in a darker brown with a curved stem. See photos for further details.
