A fabulous and superbly working dice box with dice. The way you can see these boxes are original and in perfect condition, is that the inner box opens and closes with a vacuum. This dice box was personally found in Burma and dates back to mid 19th c. Made of brass. Outer box has 2 Chinese words stamped inside at the bottom end. This is a cast bronze figure of the Buddha in a seated position and protected by a five-headed Naga. The Naga’s coiled body forms the throne for the Buddha, while his five head hood rises up behind and curves over forming a protective canopy. The casting measures 4 3/8” high and is 2” wide by 1 ½” deep. We believe it dates to the late 18th to mid 19th century from the patina, a few dents in the Naga’s hood, and some traced of verdigris oxidation at the base of the hood. ... Click for details

Beautiful set of five antique Burmese cow or buffalo bells. Each bronze bell was handmade and decorated with bronze overlays or etchings. These ornate bells were the norm for cattle up to the early 1900s. Loop mounts display different amounts of wear, due to time and use. All are in very good condition. Mounted on a modern black stand. Size: 4 1/4 inch tall, 8 inch long, 4 inch deep (including base). Circa 1880 to 1930.

Burmese zodiac figures on base, bronze. Amongst the zodiac figures we see: elephant, lion, tiger, rat, dragon, snake, cow and bird. Not an "opium weight", it rather looks like a lid. However many of these animals images are seen in genuine old opium weights. Nice chocolate brown patina. The piece dates back to at least Mandalay period ca. 1850. A bronze figure of a sturdy-bodied Garuda with his arms and wings spread outwards. Vishnu, with his traditional implements including a discus, conch and mala is balanced atop Garuda's left shoulder and upright tail. The patina is complex in color - some areas have taken on lapis lazuli blue hues.

This is a 19th century bas relief plaque from Thailand of Buddha under the tree of enlightenment (pipal or bo tree, ficus religiosa). This bronze has a very nice feel to it, and a dark patina with a few remnants of gold paint.
