Very unique ensemble of rattan and bamboo splitting knives circa 60 to 90 years old. As with all old Thai things even their simple daily use items were done with style and beauty, nowadays this sort of thing is imported in mass quantities from China. Wooden Garuda the bird animal god. This beautiful Garuda carving was acquired from a Buddhist temple (Wat) in Northern Thailand, during a recent renovation. The dealer had added some gold leaf to cover the old red paint, prior to us purchasing the sculpture. We built a steel cradle mount to display the artifact, without the need for any drill holes.
