FROM AFGHANISTAN, a rare an unusual antique personal artifact, this snuff box or snuff bottle fashioned from a moulded gourd with silver appointments. The decorated gourd has not been carved. Instead, a growing gourd is encased in a two-part wooden mold inside of which is carved and incised decoration. A VERY OLD MIDDLE EASTERN COPPER MILK BOWL of circular form with flared sides and a slightly concave bottom. The hammered copper (see photo of underside) has been lined with tin for actual use, much of which has worn off from the inside of the vessel. An authentic piece dating from the late 19th to the very early 20th century. There are no manufacturer’s marks. A large Turkish traveling pen case (Divit) of elongated form with pronounced rounded ends, one hinged, one with rectangular barrel shaped inkwell. The ends and sides engraved with scrolls. The base of the inkwell decorated with an alam, stamped maker's mark. A large Persian pottery tile with low relief and enamel decoration of two kings in a landscape, late 19th century. There is a short inscription above each figure, identifying one as Sharpur. Measurements are 10 3/4" X 10 3/4" X 1" thick, or 27cm X 27.5cm X 2.5cm. There are no breaks, losses or repairs. Four eye bolts have been added in the past to the sides. There is a 1cm hole about one-half way down one corner on the unglazed portion of the tile.

19th to early 2oth century Mamluk revival Cairoware inlaid tray. This tray has three different Islamic Script cartouches with simple endless knot medallions in between and in the center. There are also chain panel details encircleing the tray near the edge. The tray measures 13" across. and weighs 2 pounds. It has a light patina, and the piece is overall in good condition, cosidering it's age.
