Early 18th to early 19th century Tibetan thangka in original mounts depicting Green Tara with the image of Buddha Amitabha above her and her 21 forms around her. She is the miraculous savior rescuing all beings from suffering, particularly from the “eight calamities” of both mundane and spiritual nature: 1. lions and pride 2. wild elephants and delusion 3. forest fires and hatred 4. snakes and envy 5. robbers and fanatical views 6. prisons and avarice 7. floods and lust 8. demons and doubts...

On a fundame lacquer base, the decoration, on one side, black and red, of a rooster, hen and chicks under bamboo with the sea in the background and on the other side a fisherman's hut by the sea in front of the imposing presence of Mount Fuji. The lacquer work is particularly subtle in hira and taka maki-e. The interior of the compartments is nashiji lacquer. The ojime is made of malachite. Signed: Nikkosai. Height: 8.4 cm.

Ink and polychromy on silk. Charming kakemono of a musician on horseback holding her samisen. A child holds out a side of her richly decorated kimono. Courtesans seem to relax. One with a fan has lost her sandal (zori) while the other 2 are preparing to enjoy a tea. A poem at the top of the painting describes the scene. It is signed by 2 stamps which can attribute this painting to Kitagawa Fujimaro (1760-1850). Dimensions of the painting: H112 x W45.5cm.

This crystal and silver overlay vase was produced in the USA by Mathews Company of Newark, New Jersey, around 1907. There is a hallmark from this company and the silver content, 999/1000 is stamped on the foot. The vase is 14 inches tall and the opening has a diameter of 3 5/8 inches. The hand blown crystal is emerald green. It is decorated with elaborate silver overlay. There are large poppies on four sides, surrounded by flowing foliage in the loveliest art nouveau fashion...

An authentic ancient Chinese Nephrite Bi disc made from five matching segments. The stone is a pale to mid-green with some darker inclusions and area of white (alteration of the stone). The piece measures some 4-1/2" (11cm) in diameter. This piece is ancient and is guaranteed to be ancient to the original purchaser.

This is an ancient bronze short sword from Northwestern Iran. It has a choice, predominantly blue patina mottled with green and red. The lower half of the hilt is basically ovoid in hape with a lappet-flanged area on both broad surfaces. Flanged areas often held inlays of wood or bone but a lappet flange of this type was probably a decoration in and of itself. The upper half of the hilt is also ovoid but with the broad surfaces oriented perpendicular to the lower half...

A rarely seen set of zodiac figures with animal heads and human bodies. All are dressed in long gowns with long sleeves, their hands folded in front of their chests.

This is tsutsugaki horse Cover textile of the Edo era. It is made of hand-spun and hand-woven and natural indigo dyed cotton. It has a thin stain. It has several small holes and repair traces. However, it is in a very good state. size:67cm x 586cm (26.4" x 19.3ft)

Antique Japanese bronze figure of Quanyin from the Meiji period, late 19th century. The figure is holding a scroll and wearing draped robes decorated with necklaces and flowers. Quanyin is the buddhist goddess of compassion. It measures 12" tall, 4" wide at base.

Dimensions; 11.25" high x 9.5" wide; weight an impressive 33.5 ounces standard, 30.5 ounces Troy. Marked 5 Pint and model 2412A. Slight crimping between the base and body (see picture) possibly from an old repair. Otherwise in excellent condition. Monogram (cursive RSG?)

Featuring shell knees, hoof feet, scalloped border and acanthus decorated flying scroll handles. Dimensions; 6" x 3.25" x 3.75" high; total weight 10.5 Troy ounces. Very fine condition.

An antique Japanese Gifu Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite stye handles. 5 exterior drawers for storage and organizing with 2 sliding doors behind which store records and books were kept. Hinged door secures 2 small drawers where valuables were hidden away. Horizontal side slats provide strength and a visual design element complimenting the sliding door slats...

Our C1780 muff chain has an unusual link in the shape of bows. These hand forged bow links continue all around the chain. Georgian muff chains were worn by women who would attach a muff to the chain to conveniently keep their hands warm and the chain was designed to allow the muff to fall at just the right place. This is why original muff chains were always long (shorter chains were generally part of a larger muff chain that has been cut down to make 2 or 3 necklaces)...

Stunning early Chinese mandarin Qianlong lidded enameled porcelain jar. Beautifully decorated in famille rose style with figural and landscape design in different panels, from late 18th/early 19th century period. Victorian brilliant-cut glass ice bucket with sterling silver mounts. Made by Wilcox (part of International) in Meriden, Conn., ca 1900. Tapering sides with diaper and star ornament. Mouth has sterling silver collar with beaded rim and c-scroll tapering and concave swing handle. Fully marked including maker’s stamp. Very good condition.
