Double ikat, hand-spun cotton with natural dyes, exhibiting the Wayang keno kneeling figures in threaded in rust brown. Wayang Keno are known as the triad of three Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. This textile is and would have been believed to possess healing properties as the name means "no disease". (Gering = disease, sing = no).

Large late Qing dynasty Guangxu period Straits lidded baluster form jar, or "general's helmet jar" (jiang jun guan), decorated in underglaze blue against a white porcelain background with four “shuangxi” symbols (indicating double-happiness and wedded bliss) surrounded by a stylized pattern of pencil style scrolling sweet pea flowers and vines (symbolizing “many children”). The interior and base are glazed but the foot rim and mouth are unglazed...

This is a rare, well-modeled and detailed 19th Century Japanese Arita Porcelain Elephant. It is based upon an outstanding 1680 Japanese Kakiemon model, which in turn, was derived from Chinese prototypes. This piece is enameled in red and cobalt with yellow accents. A large repousse decorated sterling presentation trophy goblet - London, 1866, by Henry Holland and Company. Size: 9 7/8 inches ht. Weight: 15.5 Troy ozs. The inscription reads: Presented by the Trustees of the Pontypool Park Estate for Competition by No. 1 (or Pontypool) Company of the 2nd Monmouth Rifle Volunteer Corps. 1866. The winner's name is etched into a cartouche on the reverse side - Sgt. Robert W. Wallace, 2nd Monmouths. Excellent condition.
