A classic Sandwich glass hyacinth vase in a rich amethyst shade. The vase is entirely hand blown, shows the traces of hand marvering. The deeply concave base has a rough pontil and a basal ring showing the expected wear. Hyacinth vases, sometimes called tulip vases or bulb vases, were used to force flowering bulbs for wintertime blooms indoors. They were quite the rage and some Victorian homes had numbers of vases arrayed on windowsills. Pieces by Sandwich are uncommon...

Antique Japanese small ko tansu, personal chest. Made all of kiri (paulownia) wood with iron hardware. This chest has three large drawers and two small drawers on the bottom. Every drawer is outfitted with a round lock plate, warabite shaped drawer pulls and lovely fan-shaped corner brackets.

Elegant Chinese famille rose enameled porcelain vase, trumpet neck above a tapering body. Decorated with pink and lavender peonies and fruiting vines. Qianlong mark (1736-1795), but I believe 19th century. Size: 9 3/8" height, 3.25" diameter.

Two pairs of Edwardian Regency sterling silver salt & pepper shakers. Made by Graff, Washbourne & Dunn in New York, ca 1909. Each: Ovoid body with engraved scrolled frames inset with flowers and leaves. One frame engraved with interlaced script monogram. Short neck and pierced and domed cover with vasiform finial. Foot raised with tubular piercing overlaid with swags, and open heraldic shields inset with flowers. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, no. 5542/47, and patent year 1909...

Ancient Chinese Hongshan culture jade carving possibly of a turtle shell. Smoother surface on top with two holes. The underside carved with horizontal ridges. Carved of green jade with orange striations. Likely a burial or ceremonial artifact. Hongshan culture was located in the Liao river basin in northeastern China.

Large Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Camel with Oxford TL Test

This impressive pottery model of a Bactrian camel was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a pale buff-coloured pottery, has good detail and has been "cold painted" in a base coat of a creamy-white pigment with details picked out in brown, red and black pigments. The camel stands upright and alert with its head held high and turned a little to its left. Its two humps are particularly prominent...

Double portrait cameo ring in sardonyx, a variety of onyx and from the chalcedony family of stones, with the profiles of Venus and Mars overlaid in a pleasing contrast and further set on a carved rectangular stone in a 9K cigar band. Mars is shown in black at the foreground with his warrior attributes (helmet and armour) while Venus is portrayed in the background in white. We love the way each is carved from the same piece of stone then further mounted on another piece of stone...

This wonderful 18K Scottish fob features an imposing tower, the symbol for the Mason family crest. The fob is carved with a motto which reads "Demeure Par La Verite" and translates to "Keep Fast By the Truth". Keep fast by the truth is rooted in the bible: from the Gospel of John, it means remain faithful to the word of God and one will be rewarded with a fruitful life. Our fob is 1.5" tall and just shy of 1.5" wide...

Fine 18th-century English carved and gilt wood mirror with corner rosettes and later, distressed mirror plate. Circa 1760-80.

We love baby rings, worn around the knuckle or worn clipped to a large split ring and worn around a chain, or simply collected in honor of a new baby. Our Victorian baby ring has rose diamonds encased in gold, spaced evenly around the band. The band has a royal blue enamel border on both top and bottom of the band.
