Antique Japanese dramatic large incensor, multi-color glaze decorated with scenes of beautiful maidens and flowers. Meiji Period (19 century).

This is a very rare projectile point made from a stingray barb about 1000AD. It is 6 1/4 long. It was found in the Pacific Islands. It is translucent and very sharp. There is no damage or restoration. It has obvious rework. It is from the Dr. Raymond Thomas collection. I have only seen two of these in all my years of collecting. The other one was one of my most viewed artifacts on this site.

Edwardian sterling silver baby cup. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark, ca 1915. Upward tapering sides and scroll handle. Acid etched frames with animals, including an elephant, camel, and gazelle. Frame with American eagle has vacant space for engraving the name of the cutest and cuddliest beast. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 1684. Very good condition.

Set of nine lovely Antique Japanese lacquered wood trays. All trays are matching, with carved woven design. Color is a rich brown with a gold flower in center of trays. Bottom of tray is black lacquer, with four rounded wood pegs. Trays come with wooden box.

An interesting pair of straight sided flared bowls decorated with contrasting panels of Bamboo, painted with gilt outlined enamels, and Aka-e kinrande with unusual black enamel roundels with kara kusa patterns, brocade balls, and green and gilt demi florets.
The interior of the bowls decorated with two contrasting diaper patterns and a mon style motif to the interior. The bowls are 12cm in diameter and stand just under 8cm high. The bowls date to the mid 18th century...

Of conical form, covered inside and out with a dark brown glaze, which terminates just above the shallow and well-cut foot, and splashed with light brown suffusions to the exterior.

DESCRIPTION: A fine red and gilt Chinese scholar's ink cake in circular form with the front and back molded in relief in the form of a foo dog (shi shi) with tightly curled mane.
