A small antique Japanese iron tsuba decorated with motifs of cherry blossoms blown in the wind. The tsuba is decorated in a way where on one side is a branch of the cherry blossoms and the other side is the flowers scattered on the ground. The flowers are done in a shakudo style technique. Antique Japanese hardwood cha tansu (tea chest) with four tiered shelves for the display of tea ceremony articles such as tea pots, plates, etc. The top right section holds a storage compartment behind two sliding panels, while the lower section holds both a large shelved compartment and a secret hidden drawer. An antique Chinese skinny bench made entirely of Elm wood. Having acquired an antique patina over the years of weathering and loving use, it is sturdy and ready for its next century of function.
Contemporary uses include placement at the end of a bed, behind a sofa or in an entryway for ease of removing ones shoes before entering a home.

This is the only calligraphy by Kim Eung Won aka Soho (1855-1921) we have ever seen offered for sale. His skill was so revered that the prince Daewongun paid Kim Eung Won to paint many of the works for which the prince took credit. Ink on paper. Chinese glazed, green porcelain water dropper, in a zoomorphic form resembling a canine, with finely etched "hairs" along its body. It is baring its teeth and has three holes, two in its mouth (one plugged, the other open for the flow of water) and one in its back to be filled with water. Qing dynasty, reign of K'ang Hsi (1662-1722)

Japanese isho tansu, or clothing chest of drawers, constructed with Persimmon wood front drawers and a Sugi (cedar) frame and interior. The tansu holds four long drawers with metal pulls and round keyholes with floral plating. The sides of the piece are built with handles to carry and transport the tansu. Original condition with kanji inscription on backside of chest.

Antique Japanese painted ceramic figure of seated Daruma. Made from a mold and painted, this is an unusually expressive and detailed depiction of Bodhidharma, the monk founder of Zen Buddhism. He has his traditionally intense expression and, in this case, his robes are decorated with flowers. Daruma is a popular good luck symbol for prosperity and perseverance.

Moss Agate (also called a form of Dendritic Chalcedony) Snuff Botle of flattened rectangular shape, supported on a raised oval elongated footrim, the gently slopping shoulders rising to a cylindrical neck, with concave and wide mouth; the stone showing cluster of mineral (iron or Manganese ixide) of green and brown colors on a grayish ground on one side, and muddle ferns and tree branches mostly in green, dark green and some brown patches, on the other side...
This is a spectacular Famille Noire Glazed Molded Porcelain Snuff Bottle of Bulbous Pear form, with a green ruyi band decorated straight neck, a white glazed mouth, and a concave recessed oval footing. The bottle is decorated on both sides with vases that contain the flowers of the four seasons: winter: plum blossoms; spring: peony; summer: lotus or orquid, and autumn: chrysanthemum, dressed in a variety of colors where green is the dominating palette, set atop an opaque black background...

A Japanese antique Ikebana Suiban Takekago (basket) made of woven bamboo with its perimeter intertwined with split bamboo. A removable copper insert for the run-off of water. Mixed chestnut color highlights and smoked bamboo. Flat woven bottom with parallel bamboo slats.
