A lovely set of three pewter measuring mugs for quarter, Pint and 1/2 pint, England, 18th.-19th. century.

Scarce as a complete set in this quality with brass rims and profusely inscribed with owners names and fine pewter touchmarks. The Quarter mug (1 quart Imperial capacity) is quite large and would probably have contained nearly a liter liquid. Brass rim measures are considered to have been used to measure shell fish and dry produce, though.

An extremely rare matching pair of large pewter wine jugs, Germany, Marburg, dated 1740.

Fantastic execution and made for a very wealthy client in c. 1740, which is engraved on the lid beneath the name of the commisioneer - JOHANNES HAAS. The jugs are stamped with a Marburg 'Feinzinnmarke' - a pewter touch mark from the city in Germany. The master given is Johann H Werlin, a meister working out of Marburg.

Futonji with tsutsugaki (glue resist dye by free hand) made of hand spun cotton. It has traditional "Karajishi-Botan", imaginary lion and peony motif. The green ground cloth is dyed with vegetable indigo and natural yellow, the painting is colored with pigments. It is remade to futonji from originally yogi, which is a futon in the shape of kimono. The tsutsugaki technique is excellent and in excellent condition. Meiji period (1868~1912).

This is an authentic nephrite pendant dating to the Qing dynasty. Two zoomorphic figures frame the central bi on this exceptionally well-carved object. Nice lot of two smaller buddha figures, Thailand and probably used inside amulets of shrines, c. 15th.-18th. cent. AD.

The larger buddha is probably from c. 18th. century but could be earlier, finely details, sukhothai style with nice old patina. The other excarvated and probably dating pre 16th. century at least if not medieval.

A high quality and large seated figure of a female Bodhisattva, Java, 9th-10th. cent.

The seated figure carved from volcanic rock, probably a type of very hard greyish-black andesit. The left arm holds a the low part of a tall flower which curls around the left wrist and the right arm rests in the lap in dhyana mudra. The legs are crossed in padmasana.
