A superior example of a Ming Dynasty blue and white Swatow porcelain plate which dates from the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1619). It has a thick crackled glaze and the center medallion is hand painted with a rare crossed double phoenix motif (male and female) and nicely surrounded by foliage, a large peony and other flowers. This stunning ensemble is surrounded by 5 very attractive border panels. As this is a shipwreck dish there is no question as to it's authenticity...

Attractive blue and black flambe glaze ceramic vase from the Qing Dynasty, 19th century. It measures 7" tall, mouth opening 2.5" wide.

Republic period, late 19th century, phoenix with yellow, pink, and green feathers. The feathers are beautifully detailed. The bird stands on one foot with the other raised close to it's body atop a rock formation. It measures 17" tall. Overall good condition with some loses.

This antique Tibetan purse would have been used as a costume ornament during festival. It is decorated with silver and bronze fittings and coral and turquoise stones. Passed from generation to generation, and used extensively, this piece shows it age. Such purses would have held precious coins and the occasional flint but would not be considered as a Tibetan "strike a light" because of the lack of the striker plate.

A perfectly matching pair of Chinese QIANLONG blue & white hand painted tea bowls with scalloped edges. The exterior depicts chrysanthemum and prunus flowers, whereas the inside of the bowl has a single flower in the well and a fine diaper border around the rim. Condition: both have rim frits, one bowl has a nick on the rim while the other has a minor firing crack between the chrysanthemum and the prunus blossoms. A most delicate hand painted KANGXI (1662-1722)octagonal blue and white porcelain wine or liquor cup. The exterior of the cup has 8 panels with delicately rendered flower motifs, whereas the center medallion depicts a charming scene with pagodas, trees and a seascape. This 19th century jade (nephrite) carving of PiXiu is 8” long, 3 ¾” high and 3” wide. PiXiu is a Chinese mythical creature who is considered to be a very powerful protector regarding the practice of Feng Shui. Not only it can protect an individual or a family, it will also draw wealth from all directions. PiXiu resembles a winged lion and is the ninth offspring of a dragon. It has a pair of bulging eyes, a long, bushy tail and one curly horn (some have two horns)...

3 Perfectly matching octogonal blue and white Chinese KANGXI or YONGZHENG Period wine or liquor cups. Early 18th Century. All 3 have a central medallion with an open lotus flower and scroll. The outside is equally decorated with delicately hand painted lotus scroll work and flowers. The rims have a nice diaper border. Condition: very good, no chips, hairlines nor restorations. Size: 2 3/4" ( 7cm.) diameter x H. 1 3/4" (4.5 cm.). Very rare to find 3 matching pieces!

Early 18th Century, KANGXI to YONGZHEN Period Blue and White Octagonal Porcelain Wine Cup and matching Saucer hand painted in blue under glaze with scrolls and lotus flowers. Both the cup and saucer have a pretty flower center medallion and the rims are decorated with a diaper border. Condition nice, saucer has flea bites/one filled rim chip (could be professionally perfected), otherwise no hairlines or restorations. Size: Saucer 4" (10 cm.) diameter, Cup 2 1/4" (5.75 cm.) diameter.

Kangxi Period (1662-1722) Chinese Blue and White Porcelain tea or liquor cup depicting slender ladies dancing "Long Elizas". Size: 6 cm. diameter x H. 3.5 cm. Nice condition, high resonance when tapped, tiny rim chips (flea bites), otherwise no hairlines, cracks nor repairs.

Japanese antique burl root wood container, two carved circular areas, tall handle, made all of one piece of wood, beautiful piece. Meiji Period (circa 1900). Size: 10" high x 8 1/2" wide.

A spectacular and intricately detailed painted Japanese Satsuma Koro. The painted features display Buddhist monks surrounded by an encircling phoenix on either side, beautifully gilted and accented with flowers and four legs that sport foo dog faces. A large gold gilted foo dog adorns the lid and is one of the most unusual renditions that i have ever encountered, I have not seen another like it...

This lacquered leather pillow would have been owned by a wealthy family during the Qing dynasty. Each end has a hand painted floral design with Chinese "well wishing" saying.
