A Chinese bronze hu-form vase with tubular handles and a cast band around the shoulder. Late Ming, 17th century. 24 cms. (shallow dent to lower part of one side)

Interesting lot of 4 ancient weights of different usage, Greek and roman, 3rd. cent. BC-3rd. cent. AD.

Lot includes to fine Greek larger stone weights, with loops at the top weighing 33.57 grams, and possible used for weaving, a pendant shaped lead weight with loop, Roman and finally another Roman weight of bronze shaped as a bird and weighing 33,76 grams.

Condition: Intact with fine patinas, several rare pieces.

A dish of moulded octagonal form with vertical raised edges decorated with a Peony leaf scrolling arabesque ground inset with shaped reserves containing auspicious Dragons and Chinese lions. The rim decorated with a stylised wave border with alternating pairs of claw waves and, gobenka, five petal flowers placed in the corners both to the interior and the exterior of the rim...

A black bird sporting a tufted beak shelters among the thick foliage of fresh bamboo by the easily identifiable and quite rare artist Sakakibara Shiho performed with pigment on silk in the original signed double wood box titled Mosochiku Hakkacho (Crested Myna Bird in Moso Bamboo), a favorite motif by the artist dating from the Taisho period. It is bordered in fine pattered silk threaded with gold and is appointed with solid ivory rollers (these will be changed if exporting)...

Diameter approximately 15 cm. There is a short hairline at the rim. More pictures are available. In good condition.

A Fine/Rare Korean Bird/Flower (花鳥圖) 8 Panel Paintings-19th C.: . Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The paintings removed from a frame. A group of 8 panel of bird and flower paintings are painted on silk, painted in ink and brilliant pholycrome colors, each painting painted with different birds and 4 seasonal flowers. Stunning Imperial Russian lacquered tea caddy. The top is handpainted with a scene of a Boyar cradling a princess in his arms as they ride a large wolf through the forest--no doubt a scene from a Russian fairy tale. The quality of decoration is superb. The inside of the caddy is lacquered red.

Origin: Russia, circa 1850...

A large for type attachment from a brazier, a pottery container for fire, molded within a rectangular framework and set vertically with the head of Silenos, his long full beard extended forward to form support for a vessel.

Size: 14 cm. wide and 12 cm. tall.

A pair early Eighteenth century English mahogany carved end caps or architectural pieces. Each piece slightly different. The pieces measure 7.5” x 3” and are high relief scroll design with heads of Puti (HIRSH)

This is a beautifully detailed Japanese lacquer screen with exceptional quality Maki-e work used to highlight the details. The front depicts a landscape shore scene, complete with a crab stretching upward, a monkey after the fruit in the tree, and the makers signature. The rear has 3 cranes in flight.

Excellent condition, no loses. 7 inches high and 9.5 wide including the stand.

A delicately potted and painted Vauxhall porcelain tea bowl with an outcurving lip, and depicting rockwork, trees, and an oriental pavilion. The interior with 3 dots and the bottom with a label from the Marie Evans collection.

The diameter is 2 7/8" and the height is 1 5/8". Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, restoration, or paint loss. Please note that any dark lines in the photos are shadows from the display stand.

Tibetan seated figure likely that of arhat Ajita, one of the 16 arhats. He is identified by two corresponding features; his hands which are resting in his lap in dhyanamudra (the gesture of mediation) and his covered head. His face is handsome (due to an accumulation of virtue) and his gaze is tranquil. Made of gilt copper repousse and with silver repousse over laid details. He sits on a lotus base and his facial features are painted.

Age: circa 1900

Antique Japanese bronze Bishamonten or guardian. Taisho period, 1912-1926. The Bishamonten is the protector of Buddhism, distributor of treasures and wealth and protector of warriors. He is the Shitenno guardian of the north, of riches and scourger of evil doers, and healer of illness. The Shitenno are the four heavenly guardians that protect the Buddha and his attendants. There is a seal on the base reading Nobu. It measures 38" tall.

An attractive Chinese Tang dynasty Sancai glaze tray. This kind of tray suppose come with a few more small cups as a whole set but missing. Dia. 21.5cm.
