Feminine Silver Dress Cane-Ca. 1890-Silver handle hand chased and engraved with various panels of different flowers, scrolls and shells on its stretching stem and with a crown of flowers on the round and flattened knob, mahogany shaft and a copper ferrule. Superb condition. Size; Handle is H. 3” x 1”, overall length 40 ½ inches.
Sheet silver in the shape of a bearded man wearing a cloak rendered with diagonal folds.
Carefully embossed head with soft classical features, heavy moustache and beard and curled hair surrounded by a row of dots.
Pierced nipples, holes for fixation.

A large Tembo tsuba. The Tembo (or Tenpo) style evolved from the Saotome school and the sukashi decoration of Okiagari here (an especially nice feature) carries over. Okiagari are self righting toys and the subject was a symbol of inspiration to Samurai in aspiring to improvement and the right path in life. There is, on a curious level of interest, some minute trace of old gold decoration (long since worn off) on the surface of this tsuba...

Appealing head of Eros rendered with girl-like features. The head with heavy-lidded eyes, a broad nose and sensuous lips. The richly curled hairdo falls down the left side of the head.
The young god has put his right arm over the head and may hold a flower (?) The button of a garment close to the neck.

Offered is a very difficult-to-find grouping of twelve, matching, 19th century, porcelain, apothecary cabinet drawer pulls.
Each pull measures about 2"W x 1 3/4"H x 1 1/2" front to back (not including bolt).
The condition of the pulls is very good with only a few minor manufacturing imperfections that add to the desired patina of an antique of this age and period.
