A lovely, small, rare, middle Ming dish ( fifteenth century ) decorated in underglaze blue with a bird. The representation of the bird very attractive and swinging. The extraordinary strong resp. deep Cobalt blue of this dish is very nice.
Diameter : 9,7 cm.
Condition : No chip, no crack, the glaze of this excavated piece slightly degraded by aggressive soil.

Terrific hand axe from Northern Africa, Sahara Desert, Neolithic period, ca. 10,000 to 6000 BC.
A finely knapped bifacial axe with finely curving shape to a thick center and done in a lovely mottled brown silex or chert.
During this time period, weather conditions called the Neolithic Subpluvial meant that the Sahara was a green, fertile landscape, ideal for hunter and gathering cultures.

An antique Japanese Haribako (sewing box) made of Tochinoki (Horse Chestnut) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Rare connected double Pine needle bronze handles representing good luck and longevity with Gumbai shaped hinges on the top. Vertical slot on the right upper back that was originally used to store a textile ruler called Shaku...
A nicely executed Dutch double series opaque twist drinking glass, made of soda metal, with elegant form. A bell bowl with a stem with a pair of solid multi-ply spiral bands outside of two heavy spiral threads. 6 1/2 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 1/2 inches and a foot diameter of 2 15/16 inches.
A very rare depiction of a birdman with bird-like facial features and a Dove tail, holding a small animal in his humanoid arms, Syro-Hittite, 2nd. millenium BC.
Interesting terracotta figure with finely handbuilt details.

The seal depicts an artful motif of two juxtaposed stylized animals with long legs.

A nice pair of very scarce bronze bells with great patina and raised design, Chinese probably Warring States, BC.475-221 or earlier
Both are made for hanging and are decorated with geometrical patterns.
Size: c. 70 mm each.
Condition: Nice patinas, both with losses. One still has the gong.

A pair of Arita dishes moulded in so-called suhama form; a stylised interpretation of a wave washed beach often associated with the Isles of the Immortals. Painted in underglaze blue with a group of five auspicious karako, Chinese Boys, bound together with a ribbon or rope; symbols of joy and a wish for offspring. In addition a Chinese style Fan and a Double gourd are painted in iron red and gilt to complete the design...
An 18th century Japanese Arita porcelain moulded dish, circa 1750 ~ 1780. The dish with a cavetto moulded with foliage and lotus flowers within a barbed rim. The centre sporting a fine underglaze blue ferocious dragon and pearl amongst coloured clouds. Within the foot-rim is an unusual six-character Yongzheng mark. A dish of this design is illustrated in Shibata, “Complete Catalogue of the Shibata Collection” The Kyushu Ceramic Museum, # 3359.

A kakemono presenting an example of calligraphy by Shunsui Rai, 1743 ~ 1813. Shunsui was a Confucian scholar of some influence in the Hiroshima district and an historian. He is the father of Sanyo Rai, 1781~1832, who also became a notable calligrapher and a painter and scholar.
Overall the dimensions are 170cm x 36cm. The picture size is 91cm x 25cm. The scroll ends are rosewood. Good condition overall with just minor horizontal creases noted...
This is a antique silk tsutsugaki dye child kimono With auspicious designs from the Edo period, treasures are delicately and carefully drawn. And the crane and turtle are very charming. There is a light discoloration. There is one small damage, but not noticeable. size:104cm x 87cm (40.9" x 34.2")
Interesting large glass amulet tessera, drilled to use as pendant, black glass, dated to the Ptolemaic period, c. 200 BC, but could perhaps malso be early Roman (see id card)

Wonderful satin stitch embroidery of flowers and butterflies decorate this charming antique Chinese Miao baby hat. The front has 4 silver Buddha ornaments and the back sports the traditional Miao ornament of a butterfly with dangling bells to protect the child from evil spirits. The hat is softly padded to keep baby's head warm.
