The seal is carved in a superb green-brown stone, very glossy and depicts a human or deity with a Palm-tree and a Goat, crescent above.
Size: 36 mm. tall and 11 mm. thick.
Condition: EF, completely intact with fine patination and micro deposits.

Early 19th century Chinese pewter covered tea caddy of round section with brass inlays of 3 bats with outstretched wings around its body and a SHOW (long life) character on top of the cover. Bats and SHOW character are a reference to the Chinese rebus about blessings of longevity. Wonderful quality precise work with wealth of details (see fur marks on their chests)). Beautiful butterscotch stone with rich depth of color, inscribed with several characters on the side, old dried red seal paste in the grooves. Overall in great condition, nice scholar’s object. Carved from a single piece of wood, the recessed base is not a separate plug.
