This beautiful footed plate or "compotier" has an incredible design of a bird with flowers, a butterfly and a bee on the top side and another bird with a dragonfly & cherries on the underside. The blue color is quite vibrant, especially on the underside design. There is a very small chip along the rim & a larger chip on the bottom of the foot. Measures approximately 8-3/4 inches across & stands 3-1/2 inches high. Stamped on the bottom with an anchor & R, I cannot make out the rest of the mark...

Late Meiji to early Showa (1895-1930) period Satsuma covered bowl. Measures 8 3/4" diameter and is 5 1/4" high with the cover on. Decorated in a moriage pattern with young boys (Karako) playing at various pastimes, highly detailed painting interspersed with raised white moriage dots. The interior of the bottom and the lid are both decorated with an elaborate scene of birds flying amongst a profusion of flowers. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips or restorations.

Of exceptionally large size, this tin glazed tankard is German, likely Nuremberg from the mark on the base, and is mounted in pewter, also marked on the interior of the lid. Pair English George III knife boxes in Hepplewhite style. Circa 1800. Each box veneered in figured mahogany with boxwood stringing and serpentine shaped fronts. The sloping hinged lids are adorned with marquetry ovals depicting a dove on an olive branch on a hardwood ground. These boxes retain their internal cutlery dividers and have a star inlaid inside the lids. The boxes are in very good condition with some old veneer repair...

A beautiful Large Staffordshire blue transfer ware well and tree platter made by Clews circa 1825. The platter features a scenic view of travelers in a landscape with ruins and a floral border. Measuring an impressive 21 inches by 16.5 inches the condition is excellent but for a minor chip that was successfully reattached (see picture) . It is amazing that there are virtually no knife marks or signs of use for a piece nearly 200 years old...

Wonderful champagne ice bucket, or "seau" circa 1950's/60's, from France. To advertise their product, champagne houses would give these buckets to restaurants as a point of sale item, they were not sold. This bucket was never circulated - it is NOS (new old stock). Marked "Montebello" in enamel, "Champange" & "Chateau de Mareuil s/Ay." Nice rolled handles. Chrome over brass; measures 8" tall 7-3/4" across.
